Have you ever noticed that you and your classmates aren't the same?  Have you noticed that you have different skin, eyes, and hair color than your friend?

In this lesson, we will be exploring more about each others backgrounds, where you and your classmates came from, and why we are the way we are.

​

The materials needed for this assignment will be:

  • A computer

  • Pencil and paper (Colored & white)

  • Scissors

  • Crayons/colored pencils

We will be watching videos about diversity and answering a couple questions after

​

  • Why are no two people the same?

  • What makes me so unique & special?

  • Who are my ancestors? (Where did they

       come from?)

  • What are traditions that my family practices?

*After watching the video, complete this coloring page while talking to a parent or guardian about the questions above.

The next part of this assignment is where you will need your scissors and the help from an adult.

  1. You will need to think of a tradition you and your family have that you learned from your culture/ancestors.

  2. Draw a picture describing the tradition on a piece of paper

  3. Cut out what you drew and glue onto a piece of colored paper

  4. On the bottom of where you glued your tradition drawing, write what your tradition is.​
